TIMESINDONESIA, GRESIK - East Java Governor, KhofifahIndar Parawansa admitted that the existence of the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) became the most important part in East Java. An important part meant by the governor is that the industrial estate in Gresik can absorb local labor.
This was said by the governor when visiting JIIPE in Manyar District, Gresik Regency, Thursday (8/22/2019) afternoon.
Khofifah said, East Java had been transformed into an industrial studded province. In fact, not a few economic growth is supported by the industrial sector.
"Yes, JIIPE has become an important part, actually East Java has entered the industrial province. 29.4 percent of economic growth is supported by the industrial sector," he said.
The number one person in the East Java Provincial Government revealed, his party had prepared a reliable local workforce from various schools such as upper levels such as SMK, SMA, D1 to D3 and others.
Therefore, Khofifah revealed that the East Java Provincial Government would conduct a specification mapping, as well as further training so that the local workforce would be better.
Moreover, the mapping is done earlier so that the governor will be able to become information for more focus in the field of labor distribution.
"What kind of skill specifications we prepare, so if we match at the beginning, then we will immediately map. We hope to be able to support qualified workers," he hoped.
Meanwhile President Director of PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS) which oversees JIIPE, Bambang Soetiono is optimistic that the industrial area he manages is developing rapidly. Moreover, he prepared 80 to 100 hectares of land for the construction of the PT Freeport smalter.
"So we are optimistic that JIIPE will develop rapidly. We believe that this year there will be additional companies that want to open here," he hoped while accompanying the East Java Governor, KhofifahIndar Parawansa. (*)
